PHOTO EDITIONS by George Fetting

Curious about George?

After picking up a Kodak brownie camera at the age of seven there was no going back. A subscription to National Geographic not long after sealed my fate. My mother has a lot to answer for - I may have ended up with a real job. Art college and stints on some of Australia's finest newspapers were just about the best apprenticeship you could have. Trips to some crazy parts of the world including Afghanistan, Laos and Burma - before they became fashionable - and the odd celebrity portrait along the way pretty much shaped my photographic career. Many enjoyable hours in the darkroom seem like a century ago but I'm glad I experienced those distant black & white silver gelatin days. Documentary and travel photography have also been an enduring love which may explain how I was voted Captured magazines' Australian Travel Photographer of the year - twice.

Photo Editions is a vehicle for many pictures taken on my treasured travels, a great many images that have been carefully archived and of course the ones I've yet to shoot. The taking of a picture might only be a fraction of a second however my new online gallery lets you a linger little longer to enjoy my work. I hope so. Ethereal seascapes, contemporary landscapes, seductive flowers and abstract art with more to come. I'm very happily married with two beautiful children and we call Sydney Australia home.

PHOTO EDITIONS online gallery

Photo Editions is a photographic online art gallery offering beautiful, accessible art, both open and limited editions. It is committed to providing corporate, private and investment collectors a beautiful selection of art. The works span a large part of my career and includes many of my favourite pieces. The imagery on the site is quite diverse however the real aim of Photo Editions is to display beautiful and captivating works of art many of which have never been seen before. The gallery is a long term ongoing project with new works being added over time. Of course the next step is for you to experience a small part of my life, own a record of a particular place and time, to place it on a wall and appreciate it – that pretty much makes it all worthwhile.

George has worked on a number of national and international publications and has travelled extensively. These days he specializes in fine art, portrait, reportage and travel.
He has won a number of photographic prizes and is a regular finalist in many Australian and International prizes.
Various personal projects keep him busy but his main love and focus is really just shooting for himself, Photo Editions and family.
